Liberty FC of the Okaka Correctional Centre have qualified for the next round of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, tagged the Prosperity Cup.

Liberty FC defeated the Nigerian Air Force side, NAF FC, 3–1 in a match played at the Okaka Correctional Centre pitch. Akpoebi Godstime gave NAF FC the lead in the 10th minute with a fine finish, but James Ebi restored parity in the 30th minute.
Ojube Forcados and Solomon Patrick scored in the 50th and 65th minutes respectively to seal a deserved victory for Liberty FC.
At the Kpansia Centre, Donbai FC edged Akwa Charity FC by a lone goal, courtesy of Ator Victor’s 73rd-minute strike, to advance to the next round after dominating proceedings.

At the Bishop Dimeari Grammar School (BDGS) Centre, Moving Stars FC defeated Christ Chosen FC 5–4 on penalties following a 1–1 draw in regulation time. In the second game, Solid Stars triumphed over Opokuma FC 11–10 on penalties after another 1–1 draw.
At the Biogbolo Centre, Ayamalem FC secured a 2–0 win over Dimaro FC, while NYSC FC defeated Kilimanjaro FC 4–3 on penalties after a goalless draw to progress.
Gbarain Starlet, at the Igbogene Centre, thrashed Emperor United 4–1 to keep their title hopes alive. In the second match, Akinima Biogbo FC hammered Real Verified FC 3–0 to advance to the next phase.
At the Obunagha Centre, Youthful FC Silina recorded the biggest win of the round, thrashing Helaman FC 8–0. Citiboi FC Feeders also defeated FC De-Lavida 2–0 to make amends for their senior team’s earlier exit to Aperetia FC of Imiringi in the preliminary round at the Otuabagi Centre.

Global City FC, at the Okordia Centre, beat Old Ladies FC 3–1, while Tovie FC overcame 35 BSW FC 2–0 to progress.
At the Tombia Centre, Youth FC edged Sansiro FC 1–0. Tournament hopefuls, Rich Destiny FC, cruised past Market Square FC 3–0, while Northern Warriors defeated Golden Boys 2–1.
Outside Yenagoa, Eric FC at the Amassoma Centre defeated Titan Club House 1–0, while Young Elite FC also recorded a 1–0 win over Ayagbo FC. In a major upset, Southern Ijaw defending champions, Professor Nimibofa Ayawei PNA FC, were eliminated after a 3–0 defeat to Efeke FC.

At the Korokorosei Centre, Onde United FC beat Ikienghebiri FC 1–0 to book a place in the next round. Former champions, Ogboin United of Ogboinbiri, also began their campaign on a winning note.
Hostilities will continue on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, across centres in Yenagoa, Southern Ijaw, and Ekeremor Local Government Areas.
