He arrived in Yenagoa on the evening of November 13, 2025, with a clear mission: to fulfil all requirements for the marriage of his heartthrob, Miss Yelaere Faith Kpou, daughter of the Late Chief Duduna Kpou of the Kalaigoni Family, Obabiri Compound, Gbarantoru Town in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The next day, accompanied by family members, Pharm. Ita proceeded to Gbarantoru, where the customary bride price was fully paid in a brief traditional ceremony hosted by the Kpou family. Their daughter, Miss Yelaere Faith Kpou, was formally given out in marriage.
In fulfilment of legal marriage obligations, the couple presented themselves at the Yenagoa Marriage Registry on Friday. After due process, the marriage between Pharm. Uboho Ita and Yelaere Kpou was duly registered under the Marriage Act, and an official marriage certificate was issued.

Speaking to EMTV News shortly after the registry ceremony, Pharm. Ita said:
“In Gbarantoru, I saw a very beautiful lady and decided I had to settle down with her and take her back to Akwa Ibom with me. Her name is Yelaere Faith Kpou, and we’re getting married.”
On how he felt after taking his marriage vows, he added:
“I feel excited. I can’t wait to complete the whole process. It’s been a wonderful experience. Everything has been seamless. I love the culture of Bayelsa; it’s a beautiful culture, and everything is going well.”

He further stated:
“We’ll still be around tomorrow. Tomorrow is the main day. We’re going to church and we’ll also have a traditional marriage, all happening in Gbarantoru. Coming all the way from Akwa Ibom has been a wonderful experience, but I would love Bayelsa people to also come to Akwa Ibom.”
In her remarks, the newly married Mrs. Yelaere Faith Ita, while smiling and pulling her husband closer, said:
“Let me look at his face so I’ll know how I feel.”
She continued:

“I feel blessed and lucky to have him by my side for the rest of our lives. This is the beginning of something beautiful. It has been an eventful journey, and I know we will experience more beautiful moments. I look forward to everything that will happen later today, tomorrow, and in the nearest future.”
Also speaking, father of the groom, Apostle (Comrade) Joseph Ita (Inyene Jehovah), expressed delight at the union.
“We came to marry a wife for my son. I’m very happy that God is unifying the South-South through marriage. My son has found his missing rib from Bayelsa, joining Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa together.”

He added:
“I’m grateful to witness my first son’s marriage. God did not make a mistake creating the South-South. Even our language differences make us stronger. Bayelsa people are peaceful people, and each time I visited as Zonal Chairman, I felt at home. I thank the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, both branch and federal chapters, for their support. Solidarity is forever.”
Reflecting on Bayelsa’s development, the retired civil servant and former South-South Zonal Chairman of ASCSN commended the state government:
“Honestly, Governor Douye Diri is doing marvelously well. Bayelsa has been fortunate to have governors who continue existing projects. Development here is costly due to the terrain, yet there is visible progress. The roads, schools, the university—they are all impressive. I give kudos to the Governor for his people-oriented projects.”

Pharm. Uboho Joseph Ita’s wedding rites are expected to climax on November 15, 2025, with a formal church wedding at Shepherd’s Vine Christian Centre, Tombia, Yenagoa. This will be followed by a traditional marriage procession at Chief Duduna Kpou’s compound in Gbarantoru Town, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
As the final ceremonies draw near, we join both families in wishing the couple a joyful, blessed, and blissful married life.
