The Commission has implemented a strategic plan that includes the successful digital demarcation of the entire country, two pretests, and a post Enumeration Survey (PES). The Commission has also trained field functionaries at various levels to ensure a hitch-free 2023 Census.
However, the actual conduct of the census was put on hold as the nation was transitioning into a new administration. Nigerians are hopeful that the newly sworn-in President, Bola Tinubu, will prioritize the census and use its outcome to plan for the country from the onset of his administration.
The Executive Chairman of the National Population Commission Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra shares this view and has expressed readiness to conduct the census if the incoming administration chooses to proceed with it. He assures Nigerians that the Commission has done all that is required to conduct a credible, transparent, and reliable census.
