Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, read out the letter during a press conference held in Enugu State on Friday. Kanu warned Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple, to stop calling for any Sit-At-Home protests. Kanu instructed Ekpa to make a public announcement stating that he had received the order to cancel the Sit-At-Home protests.

Kanu’s letter, dated July 24, 2023, came about after Ekpa refused to announce the cancellation through his media platforms. In his letter, Kanu urged his followers to refrain from engaging in any Sit-At-Home protests as it was a waste of time, resources, and energy.

The letter also stated that those who are still engaging in the Sit-At-Home protest are not Kanu’s disciples. He accused “haters of Biafra” and “mindless murderers in uniform” of using the cover of Sit-At-Home protests to unleash mayhem against the people. He urged his people to focus their attention on the delays in hearing the government’s appeal at the Supreme Court.

Kanu’s lawyer, Ejimakor, confirmed that the handwritten letter was genuine and read out the contents word for word to the journalists present. He also stated that he had received instructions from Kanu to issue a press statement in case Simon Ekpa failed to make the announcement to cancel the Sit-At-Home protests.

In conclusion, Ejimakor affirmed that the words in Kanu’s letter were genuine.
