Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Today, the Governors of the South-South States gathered in Yenagoa for a significant meeting aimed at enhancing regional cooperation for the shared prosperity of our peoples.

After extensive deliberations on various issues affecting the region, we resolved to foster greater synergy among our States and to advance regional investments in critical sectors such as security, agriculture, education, power, environmental sustainability, tourism, youth empowerment, sports development, ICT, and entrepreneurship.
We urged the Federal Government to activate the railway line in Port Harcourt and to connect other States in the region. Additionally, we expressed our desire to see the ongoing work on the East-West Road completed promptly.
Our communiqué commended Mr. President for the award and commencement of the Coastal Road project, and we appealed for work to also begin from the Calabar axis.
As South-South Governors, we support Mr. President’s Tax Reform Bill. However, we also urged him to extend the proposed VAT sharing percentages to other areas of derivation, such as oil and gas.
During our meeting, we reaffirmed our dedication to the ideals of unity, progress, and collaborative governance, and we are prepared to face the developmental challenges that confront us.
This is indeed a new beginning for collaboration among the leaders of the South-South region.

We also took a moment to celebrate our colleague and brother, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who is marking his 50th birthday today.
Once again, Happy Birthday, Governor Fubara!
