The South-South Governors Forum (SSGF) extends hearty felicitations to their Brother-Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on his 51st birthday.

Chairman of the regional governors body and Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, in a statement on Wednesday, described Governor Fubara as a humble servant of humanity and the people of Rivers State.

As part of its peace-building initiative, PANDEF announced the constitution of a high-level reconciliation committee to intervene in the crisis. The committee is chaired by Kanu Agabi, SAN, CON, a former Attorney-General of the Federation, with Senator Obende Domingo, former Senator for Edo North, serving as Vice Chairman. Other members include Rt. Hon. (Chief) Essien Nduese, CON; Dr. Timiebi Koripamo-Agari, OON; Chief Mike Ejiofor (rtd); Mrs. Nella Rabana-Andem, SAN; while Prince Godwin Okotie, Deputy National Secretary of PANDEF, will serve as Secretary.
“As governors, both of us have collaborated quietly to resolve the Soku oil well dispute that predated our administrations. Same way, we will work together as brother states to resolve any other issue that might arise. Rivers and Bayelsa cannot afford to be at loggerheads, especially as we are in the same party.
