Speaking at the commencement of the 14th edition with a three-day Solemn Assembly in Yenagoa, the Governor urged citizens to embrace gratitude, peace, and productivity as guiding principles for Bayelsa’s continued progress.
Bayelsa State advocates for the restructuring of the country based on the principles of fiscal federalism, which includes full control of all natural resources located onshore and offshore within the federating states. We propose that 40 percent of the tax be paid to the federal government, while states retain 60 percent of the revenue generated from their resources.
