Personally, I would have maintained silence to commiserate with the family while awaiting further legal actions against me, if any.

However, owing to my respect for traditional institutions, law and order, this response is propelled by the yesterday 3-days ultimatum given by the Amassoma Youth Association supported by the Southern-Ijaw federated youth Council, these are organizations that i hold at high esteem, and i consider myself a subject to their authority.

I have chosen to maintain silence and mourn with the family over the unfortunate and untimely demise of Patrick Peresuodei, who until his death, was under investigation for a case of threat to life against my person, Criminal Defamation and Cyberbullying.

I appreciate all concerns, i understand the flow of emotions, death is not something to take lightly, reasons why i would like to provide clarification regarding the false media narrative painted against me.

This situation is both tragic and unfortunate. As a father, a religious leader and a youth leader. I am deeply hurt, and I am profoundly saddened. While I sympathize with the grieving family, I would also not condone acts of defamation and Cyberbullying against my character and person.

On the 20th day of December, 2025, the deceased engaged in threatening my life, cyberbullying and stalking behavior towards me and my family. He accused me of fraud and deception and made threats of physical harm on me, claiming he would use an AK-47 rifle against me, despite our having no prior acquaintance, contact or altercations.

In response, I sought to avoid any interaction with him, even as he continued to threaten my life and harass me with his religious beliefs.

Shockingly, on the 15th day of January, 2026, he released a video reiterating his threats of coming to attack me with his boys, this was after he had earlier threatened to use an Ak-47 rifle on me.

Concerned for my safety, I reported the matter to the Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa Command. Subsequently, he was apprehended in Amassoma by officers of the Nigeria Police Force. While planning to attack me, along with his younger brother, who interfaced with the officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

He was detained by the Nigeria Police, pending further legal proceedings, as I was determined to pursue the matter in court.

On January 17th, 18th, being weekends, the matter was not taken to court.

On January 19th, 2026, as my legal team and I prepared for court, I received a call from the police informing me that the deceased was exhibiting signs of dementia, mental instability owing to intake of hard drugs and other illicit substance which has been in his system before his arrest, these were the words of the investigating police officer.

On the 20th day of January, i called the Police Force to remind them that the matter should proceed to court, but they explained that the deceased mental condition was not yet stable as the hard drugs were beginning to have so much effect on him, therefore recommended releasing him for medical treatment.

On 21st day of January, 2026, I was informed on phone by the Police that the deceased has been granted bail to family members.

It is important to mention that following the arrest of the deceased individual, I did not have any contact or sight of him until the news of his passing was disseminated through social media platforms with false accusations levelled against me. That i had caused his death through physical assault, which is a false narrative painted against my person.

Upon hearing the news, I was in shock, my intent was for justice to prevail through the court, as i would not wish him death.

This death issue, was further misconstrued by an individual named “Pered Keme”, who made a false post being relied upon today, he asserted that i abducted the deceased, physically assaulted him and returned him dead to his family, without any investigation, others, including “Didi Dickson Opuene”, propagated this false narrative. Though, i have instructed my legal team to proceed with a defamation suit for the sake of posterity.

I have also listened to a different narrative from deceased sister contrary to the first report, who confirmed the deceased was in police custody and not assaulted and dumped as earlier propagated, she confirmed in native language that the deceased was in good condition in police custody but asserted that i came to the station to assault the deceased with dangerous weapons, which is false. This is a matter to be determined by the law, but to me they are false intended to rub my good name in the mud, as i had no sight of the deceased after January 16th until his unfortunate demise, this can be confirmed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Upon hearing the news of his death, i immediately contacted the police unit, and they assured me that these allegations are unrelated to me. Additionally, the Amassoma Police Division has requested that I provide a statement, which I have obliged to.

Out of respect for the grieving family, I had initially chose not to respond until the traditional three-day mourning period concluded. However, if these facts are not presented to the public, falsehoods may become accepted as truth.

To the family, I extend my sympathies, since the news of his death, my family and my entire support base has been in mourning, we regard human life as sacred, such it is painful that he died in this manner.

To the Amassoma Youth Association, i will continue to respect your authority because my maternal lineage is traceable to the ogboin kingdom. I will only ask that you follow this matter diligently as i will always respond to your demands as we all find ways to uncover the truth.

Finally, i am open to investigation, i am not bigger than the laws of this country, but i must say that this death is unfortunate.

This clarification is not to accuse anybody or shy away from commiserating with the family, death is not something to be burdened by one individual, it is a collective responsibility.

This account accurately reflects the events as they transpired, as i anticipate any legal implications, which I am ready to defend my self on the altar of truth within the ambit of the law.

I reiterate once again that it is a sad loss, not just to the family, the Amassoma community, the Ogboin kingdom, but to the entire Ijaw Nation.
