In a letter issued on Saturday and addressed to the State Chairman and members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP, MacIver formally made his ambition known.
He said his aspiration is anchored on competence, experience, commitment, transparency and the welfare of the people, rather than zoning.
“I believe that the people of Bayelsa State deserve a leader who prioritises effectiveness, the welfare of our people, and the development of our State,” MacIver stated.
As part of his commitment to rebuilding and repositioning the PDP in the state, MacIver pledged to donate ₦70 million monthly to the party, beginning in August 2026.
He said the proposed financial contribution was intended to support the party’s activities and strengthen its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
MacIver’s declaration adds another dimension to the emerging political contest within the PDP as aspirants position themselves ahead of the party’s governorship primary.
