Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
While it is unquestionably your constitutional prerogative to appoint individuals of your choice into public office, history will ultimately judge the legacy you leave behind. Sir, Nigerians are compelled to ask: what is the rationale and objective behind the reported nomination of Professor Mahmud Yakubu as an Ambassadorial nominee—a man widely accused by many citizens of undermining Nigeria’s electoral process during the 2019 and 2023 general elections?

Your Excellency, whose interests does this nomination serve? Is it the collective interest of the Nigerian masses, or that of powerful cartels believed to wield undue influence around the corridors of power? It is important to reflect deeply on how the international community will perceive Nigeria if a person widely alleged to have presided over compromised elections is elevated to represent our country abroad.
To our distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic,
You were elected to represent the will, conscience, and values of the Nigerian people. Nigerians expect you to exercise your constitutional oversight responsibilities with integrity and patriotism. We urge you not to endorse appointments that could be perceived as contrary to the public interest or damaging to our national image.
In particular, we call for careful reconsideration of some names reportedly listed for Ambassadorial appointments, including Professor Mahmud Yakubu, Reno Omokri, Femi Fani-Kayode, and a few others. Nigeria remains the only country we can truly call our own, and its image must be jealously protected.
Rewarding individuals perceived by many Nigerians as controversial—or allegedly complicit in actions that weakened our democratic institutions—sends the wrong signal to the international community and undermines our national integrity.
Nigeria First!
