Former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has inaugurated the Agbura Ox-bow Lake Road in Yenagoa Local Government Area, alongside the Oporoma Referral Hospital located in Osokama, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Osinbajo commended the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, for what he described as visionary leadership and impactful development strides across the state. He noted that Bayelsans and Nigerians alike have witnessed foresight and purposeful governance under Diri’s administration.
According to him, “When a leader understands why God entrusted him with power, the people will rejoice,” adding that divine wisdom was evident in the choice of Governor Diri.
In his remarks, Governor Diri expressed gratitude to the former Vice President for inaugurating the projects and performing the groundbreaking ceremony of the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge. He highlighted that the Oporoma Referral Hospital project, whose construction began over five decades ago, represents a major milestone in his administration’s commitment to completing abandoned projects.
The governor reiterated his administration’s guiding principles of unity, peace, reconciliation, and development. He further assured that the road leading to Osokama would be constructed, the hospital facility fenced, and both Oporoma and the hospital connected to the state-owned gas turbine to ensure steady power supply.
