Diri Pays Tribute to Late Madam Patience Egukawhore at Funeral in Delta State

OKPOLO-ENHWE, DELTA STATE —Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Saturday joined family members, political leaders, traditional rulers, and other sympathisers at the funeral ceremony of the late Madam Patience Igho Egukawhore in Okpolo-Enhwe Town, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Madam Patience Egukawhore, who passed away at the age of 67, was the elder sister of renowned businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Wayles Group, High Chief (Dr.) Victor Emonena Wayles Egukawhore.

Governor Diri, in a message of condolence during the solemn event, described the deceased as a woman of exemplary humility, deep family values, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of her people.

According to the Bayelsa governor, Madam Egukawhore lived a life defined by practical love, service, and dedication to the unity and progress of both her family and community.

“She was a woman of exemplary humility and deep family values, who left a legacy of practical love and service to her people. She will be fondly remembered for her warm personality and commitment to the unity and progress of her family and community,” Diri stated.

The governor expressed sympathy to the Egukawhore family and prayed for divine comfort and strength for all those grieving the loss of their beloved matriarch.

“I pray for God’s comfort and strength for the Egukawhore family and her loved ones during this difficult period,” he said.

The funeral attracted a distinguished gathering of political and traditional leaders from Bayelsa and Delta states, highlighting the enduring relationship and strong inter-state ties between the two neighbouring states.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori; the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Chief Fred Agbedi, who represents Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency; Hon. Marie Ebikake, member representing Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency; Hon. Julius Pondi, representing Burutu Federal Constituency of Delta State; and the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, family members, and friends also gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased, whose life and contributions were celebrated through tributes and prayers.

The ceremony served not only as a farewell to a respected matriarch but also as a reflection of the values of family, service, and community cohesion that defined Madam Patience Egukawhore’s life.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and community, but her legacy of love, humility, and dedication to humanity will continue to inspire generations to come.
