Additionally, it was presented to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.

Presenting the budget, christened ‘Budget of Assured Prosperity for Sustainable Growth and Development,’ Governor Diri said.
Moreover, stakeholder engagements shaped the 2027 proposals with traditional rulers, technical experts, the organized private sector, and citizens statewide.
He described the budget as historic. Moreover, it is the first appropriation bill presented as Bayelsa enters its fourth decade. It comes at a time when sustained investments in infrastructure and other sectors are visible across eight local government areas.
“Our fiscal priorities remain clear: roads and bridges that connect communities, better health and education services, reliable power and an environment in which businesses and families can thrive,” he said.

According to the governor, the proposed budget is based on projected revenue of ₦1,242,688,970,520.22. With ₦840.791 billion, representing approximately 68 per cent, earmarked for capital expenditure, recurrent expenditure accounts for ₦401.897 billion, representing about 32 per cent.
He noted that the proposed estimates represent an increase of approximately 22 per cent.
Moreover, this is over the ₦1.016 trillion 2026 budget.
Diri listed several strategic projects that would receive priority attention in 2027. Moreover, they include projects at advanced stages of completion.

They include the Ekeremor–Agge Road Phase I, Nembe–Brass Road Phase I, Akaba–Ayakoro Road with a spur to Otuegwe 1, Glory Drive Phase III, Ogbere–Elemebiri Road, the 30,000-seat stadium at Igbogene, and the nine-story State Secretariat Complex.
The governor expressed optimism that the ongoing construction of the three senatorial roads would eventually connect all local government headquarters to the state capital. This would open up communities and stimulate socioeconomic activities.
With work progressing on all senatorial causeways, we are moving closer to an ambition our people have held.
Since the creation of the state, the goal is to connect the capital to every local government headquarters.
It will also open access to our coastal communities.
This will boost fisheries, marine and blue economy enterprises, and tourism.

“These projects demonstrate that our beautiful terrain should not limit our ambition. Moreover, with resolve, sound planning and prudent management, Bayelsa is building what many once thought were impossible,” he stated.
