Taking to Truth Social on Monday afternoon, just as the Republican National Convention was about to commence in Milwaukee, Trump revealed his decision.

He praised Vance’s highly successful background in technology and finance and emphasized that, during the campaign, Vance will be unwaveringly focused on advocating for American workers and farmers across key states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond.

At 39 years old, Vance was previously a vocal critic of Trump. However, his rise to prominence came after the publication of his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy” in 2016. In the book, Vance candidly shared the hardships faced by his working-class white family in rural Ohio and Kentucky. Following Trump’s election that same year, the memoir gained widespread attention.

Although Vance publicly admitted to not voting for Trump, he later underwent a transformation and aligned himself with the MAGA movement, becoming a staunch Trump ally.
