A spokesperson for the United States Secret Service told Fox News Digital that an individual was apprehended after bypassing a security checkpoint near The Ellipse, also known as President’s Park South.

The suspect was taken into custody, and criminal charges are expected to follow. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity or motive of the individual, and it remains unclear whether the suspect was armed during the breach.

Secret Service on High Alert

The Secret Service maintained heightened vigilance during the British royals’ state visit. In a post on its official Instagram account, the agency highlighted its security operations, stating:

“State visits don’t stay safe by accident. The Secret Service was on-site every moment of King Charles III’s arrival ceremony at the White House, securing the facilities and keeping everyone safe.”

Royal Visit Follows WHCD Shooting

The arrival of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Monday came less than 48 hours after a shooting at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

Following the incident, Donald Trump was quickly escorted from the venue by Secret Service agents, alongside First Lady Melania Trump and several senior administration officials.

The suspect, identified as Cole Allen, 31, from Torrance, California, faces multiple charges, including attempted assassination of the U.S. president, transporting a firearm across state lines, and discharging a weapon during a violent crime.

On Tuesday, King Charles III addressed Congress in a joint session and is scheduled to visit New York City and Virginia as part of his official trip.
