In the next six months, the good people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District will go to the polls to elect a credible person to represent them in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

A deeper insight into the feelings of a cross-section of the people of the senatorial district regarding the election reveals that they are earnestly yearning for a God-fearing, selfless, and credible person who is unreservedly committed not only to making quality laws that would ultimately lead to the socio-economic and political transformation of the district but also to effectively utilizing legislative oversight functions to positively impact the lives of the people.

While traversing the political landscape of the senatorial district, one person who possesses the qualities of a viable and outstanding candidate for the highly esteemed position is Mrs. Jennifer Tombra Mohammed.

Apart from being a tested and trusted woman who understands the basic tenets of democracy, she is equally a woman of substance who has consistently taken into consideration the economic welfare and growth of her people in all her endeavors.

Undoubtedly, this prompted her to indicate interest in contesting for a seat in the Red Chamber to represent the good people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, a position that would afford her the opportunity to further advance the socio-economic fortunes of the district.

In this vein, Jennifer Tombra Mohammed has expressed her readiness to utilize the wealth of experience she has gathered over the years to initiate bills that would culminate in the overall transformation of the Sagbama/Ekeremor Senatorial District.

The erudite woman, who hails from Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, is contesting under the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and has been variously described as a round peg in a round hole.

While addressing newsmen recently on her agenda for the people of the district if elected, Jennifer Tombra Mohammed was quick to express her preparedness to expedite action on the need to strategically position herself in a way that would enable her to influence her colleagues and attract developmental projects from the Federal Government to the senatorial district.

Besides, she also opined that the people of Sagbama and Ekeremor are presently clamouring for the retention of the age-long zoning formula for elections into the Red Chamber, emphasizing that it is imperative to reverse the trend and discourage the “highest bidder takes all” syndrome that has generated considerable controversy and ill feelings within the district.

She further noted that the time has come for the people of the senatorial district to unite and change the narrative by ensuring that Ekeremor produces the Senator who will represent Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections. She called on the people not to allow moneybag politicians to subvert their collective will.

Jennifer Tombra Mohammed further reiterated that she has been in the race to represent her people in the Red Chamber since 2023, a journey that has afforded her the opportunity to visit communities across the senatorial district. She emphasized that she now possesses first-hand knowledge of the peculiar needs of the people, which she intends to adequately address if elected.

She urged the people to imbibe the spirit of unity and rally around her as she prepares for the election, pledging to leverage her vast political exposure and experience to deliver the much-desired dividends of democracy to the district.
