(Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, describing him as an exemplary leader whose commitment to good governance and democratic ideals continues to inspire the people of the South-South region and beyond.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday, the Chairman of the South-South Governors Forum and Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, joined the people of Delta State, political associates, and well-wishers in celebrating Governor Oborevwori’s life of service, dedication, and impactful leadership.
Governor Diri noted that Oborevwori’s political journey—from serving as the longest-serving Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to becoming Governor of Delta State—reflects his unwavering commitment to democratic governance, public service, and the development of his people.
According to the Forum, Governor Oborevwori has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through the implementation of his M.O.R.E Agenda, which has recorded significant strides in infrastructure development, security, social welfare, and economic growth across Delta State.
“Your transition from the longest-serving Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to becoming Governor testifies to your unwavering commitment to the ideals of democracy and visionary leadership,” the Forum stated.
The South-South Governors Forum further commended the Delta State Governor for his efforts in fostering peace, unity, and prosperity within the state, noting that his dedication to the progress of Delta and the South-South region remains a source of inspiration to many.
“Through your M.O.R.E Agenda model, you continue to break new grounds in infrastructure development, security of lives and property, social welfare, and in ensuring that Delta becomes more prosperous and united. Your dedication to the peace and progress of your state and our region remains a profound inspiration,” the statement added.
The Forum also offered prayers for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, and protection upon Governor Oborevwori as he marks another year.
“The South-South Governors Forum prays that Almighty God grants you sound health, divine wisdom, and abundant strength to steer Delta State to even greater heights,” Governor Diri said.
The birthday tribute underscores the cordial relationship among governors of the South-South region and highlights Governor Oborevwori’s growing influence as a key driver of development and regional cooperation.
Governor Oborevwori clocked 63 years on June 19, receiving goodwill messages from political leaders, associates, and citizens who celebrated his contributions to governance and development in Delta State.
