Ogboin North RDA Commissions 325 School Chairs in Amassoma

The Ogboin North Rural Development Authority (RDA), under the visionary leadership of High Chief Francis T. Aguobiri, proudly commissioned 325 iron-fitted wooden chairs for five government primary schools across three wards in Amassoma on Friday, October 4, 2024. This significant event took place in the Amassoma Community, located within the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

During the commissioning ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government, Hon. Target Segibo, represented by Vice Chairman Hon. Ekeuwei Josephine, PhD, commended the RDA for its continued efforts in promoting development at the grassroots level. She also lauded the Senator Douye Diri-led administration for prioritizing rural development in its second term under the “Prosperity ASSURED Agenda.”

Dr. Ekeuwei praised High Chief Francis Aguobiri for his dedicated service to the community and urged residents to safeguard the new facilities, assuring them of more people-oriented projects in the future.

High Chief Francis Aguobiri expressed his gratitude to God for enabling the project and extended his thanks to His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, and Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewrudjakpo for making this initiative a reality. He emphasized that their purposeful leadership has translated prosperity to the villages of Bayelsa State.

In his remarks, Aguobiri highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to education and community development, stating it clearly demonstrates their dedication to:

  • Supporting Teacher Effectiveness

In attendance were prominent figures like the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Deaconess Elizabeth Bidei, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-Governmental Organizations, Hon. Akpoebidei Alamieyeseigha, who expressed gratitude to Aguobiri for facilitating an enabling learning environment for children. They encouraged him to continue his efforts and prayed for resources to support his initiatives.

HRH Chief Godwill Akedesuo, the Acting Amananaowei of Amassoma Community, also expressed his appreciation for the project, commending the Prosperity Government’s commitment to education and praying for Aguobiri’s continued success in his role.

Chief Biriabebe Miebi, Headmaster of Kpakari Memorial Primary School, voiced his gratitude on behalf of the headmasters, stating that the new chairs would enhance learning and contribute to the academic growth of the community.
