In a massive defection move, over 2,000 All Progressive Congress (APC) faithfuls have left the Broom Party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Otuan, Southern Ijaw Ward 5.

The defectors, in their separate speeches, stated that their decision to leave the APC was influenced by Governor Douye Diri’s commitment to the unity and development of Bayelsa State.
They expressed their confidence in the PDP-led government and promised to support the party to strengthen peace and development in the area.
Hon. Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei, the Member representing the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, while receiving the defectors, commended them for their choice.
He highlighted the development strides and peace initiatives brought about by Governor Diri’s administration in the state, particularly the proposed Yenagoa/Oporoma-Otuan Road project that will benefit the entire Otuan community.
Other notable stakeholders present at the event include Hon. Andrew Opuene, Chairman of the PDP in Ward 5, Hon. Steve Diver, Hon. Oyeinfie Jonjon, Hon. Cleopass Carter, Chief Douye Douglas Naingba, Hon. Joseph Akedesuo, Barr. Christopher Kainga, Dr. Isaiah Korikiye, Hon. Lovely Sogo, Hon. Pereladei Apreala, Comrade Abaye Ambaiowei, Asper Mark, Hon. Miebi Albert, and Hon. Rogers Ongolo, among others.
