Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Family members, political associates, friends, church members and well-wishers gathered in Yenagoa on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Victoria Ambaiowei, wife of Comrade Chief Abaye Ambaiowei.
The celebration, which brought together a large gathering of people from different walks of life, was marked by music, dancing, prayers, goodwill messages and expressions of appreciation for the celebrant.
Speaking with EMTV News Chief Correspondent Robinson Erebi during the celebration, Mrs. Ambaiowei expressed gratitude to God for granting her another year in good health.
“I feel very, very happy because some people that were born on the same day with me are no more, some now they are sick. Some now they are roaming about the street. But I am here today in sound health. I return all the glory to God. I am very, very happy today.”
She also prayed for everyone who came to celebrate with her, asking God to ensure that celebration would continually remain in their homes.
“As they are here today to celebrate with me, celebration will not cease in their house in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
Mrs. Ambaiowei used the occasion to appreciate her husband for his love and support, describing him as a caring husband and her strength.
“He is my head, and I thank him so much because he’s a caring husband.”
She equally expressed appreciation to her brother-in-law, Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei, for the love and care extended to her by the Ambaiowei family.
According to her, despite being from outside Bayelsa State, she has been warmly embraced by the family.
“They don’t even mind that I’m not from Bayelsa, that I’m a stranger from another place. But they show me love. They care for me. They all support me.”
‘She is my pillar and my support’ — Abaye Ambaiowei
Speaking about his wife of about 33 years, Comrade Chief Abaye Ambaiowei described Mrs. Victoria Ambaiowei as a wonderful woman and the pillar of his home.
He said her birthday was initially intended to be a modest family gathering involving only a few friends, but the love and goodwill of family members, friends and associates turned it into a much larger celebration.
“My wife is a very wonderful woman, and I’ve always said in all her birthdays, that she’s my pillar. She’s my support. She’s everything about my home. And I’m happy for her.”
Chief Ambaiowei said the large turnout was a reflection of the affection people have for his family.
“The mammoth crowd you see here were not invited. It is the love for this family that made them troop in here to celebrate my wife.”
Reflecting on their marriage, he said the couple had enjoyed about 33 years of togetherness and a peaceful relationship.
“I’ve known my wife for about 33 years. We have been together. We have no issues, very peaceful.”
He further praised his wife for her generosity and hospitality, particularly her willingness to accommodate and feed people in their home.
“Sometimes she feeds as much as 30–40 people in this house. She never frowns. And that’s the kind of wife I wanted to marry, and I’m happy for it.”
Chief Ambaiowei also thanked everyone who attended the birthday celebration, including political associates, political friends, family friends and members of his wife’s church.
He urged people to embrace happiness and avoid taking life unnecessarily seriously, stressing the uncertainty of life and the need to appreciate every moment.
“There’s nothing in this planet Earth. Just keep yourself happy, don’t take life too serious, because your life is in the hands of God, the Creator.”
He added that those who participate in the joy of others should also experience joy themselves.
“Somebody who partakes in your joy should also get joy. Especially those with open hearts.”
‘She is a wife, sister and friend’ — Ebilambo Ambaiowei-Okiakpe
Also speaking with EMTV News, Mrs. Ebilambo Ambaiowei-Okiakpe described Mrs. Victoria Ambaiowei as more than a sister-in-law, saying she has become a sister and friend to members of the family.
“We are grateful unto God for having her as a wife. Not just a wife, a sister and a friend.”
She thanked God for granting the celebrant good health and another year of life, describing her as a good wife and a wonderful member of the Ambaiowei family.
“She has been a very wonderful wife. And I pray that the good Lord Almighty continue to give her the wisdom and the knowledge to be a good woman to this family, to be accommodating to each and every one.”
Mrs. Ambaiowei-Okiakpe prayed for many more years of life, good health and continued grace for the celebrant.
The birthday celebration ended on a joyful note, with guests joining the celebrant and her family in dancing, sharing goodwill and celebrating what they described as another milestone of God’s faithfulness.
