Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has called for a National Dialogue to address constitutional injustices affecting Bayelsa and other parts of the Niger Delta in Yenagoa.

Governor Diri made the call while speaking on the creation of additional local government areas in a restructured Nigeria.
He said:
“I am very pleased to commend the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his interest in local government administration.
“From the beginning of my tenure till today, I have consistently spoken about true federalism. We cannot afford to have Bayelsa, which produces the oil and gas for Nigeria, with only eight local government areas, while some states have 40 or 44. It is injustice.”
“So, we need a dialogue where we can examine most of these issues. Local government creation should be the function of state governments, with the capacity to fund the councils they establish.”
