Tributes Pour In as Chief Werinipre Davidson Seibarugu Celebrates 60th Birthday with Thanksgiving Service and Grand Reception

It was a moment of thanksgiving, reflection, and celebration as family members, political associates, church leaders, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour Chief Werinipre Davidson Seibarugu on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary.

The celebration commenced with a thanksgiving service attended by dignitaries from various walks of life, who joined the celebrant and his family in expressing gratitude to God for six decades of divine grace, favour, and impactful living.

Delivering a brief homily during the thanksgiving service, the Vicar of St. Mark’s Church, Biogbolo, Rev. Canon Mayor Undukon, charged Christians to embrace lives of gratitude, faith, humility, and service to humanity.

According to the cleric, longevity is a special gift from God that should inspire deeper commitment to righteousness and selfless service. He noted that true greatness is measured not by status or material possessions but by the positive impact made in the lives of others.

Rev. Canon Undukon congratulated Chief Seibarugu on attaining the milestone age of sixty and prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health, and protection upon him in the years ahead.

The thanksgiving service was followed by a series of goodwill messages from family members, friends, political associates, and admirers who took turns to celebrate the life and achievements of the celebrant.

In an emotional tribute, Mrs. Esther Seibarugu, wife of the celebrant, described her husband as a loving husband, devoted father, dependable partner, and compassionate leader whose life has been dedicated to family, community development, and the service of humanity.

She expressed gratitude to God for preserving her husband over the years and prayed for greater wisdom, strength, peace, and good health as he begins a new chapter of life.

In an emotional moment during her remarks, Mrs. Esther Seibarugu expressed profound gratitude to God and to the many individuals who stood by her husband during a serious illness he battled some months ago and from which he is still recuperating.

Fighting back emotions, she acknowledged the support, prayers, and encouragement received from family members, friends, political associates, and religious leaders, describing them as evidence that her husband is blessed with genuine friends and well-wishers.

According to her, the unwavering support shown during the difficult period played a significant role in his recovery and renewed strength.

“True friends he has. I don’t know what would have happened. So I’m using this forum to thank Governor Douye Diri. A hundred times will not be enough; one million times will not be enough. I will thank Hon. Enogha Robert Ayalla, Chairman of the Former Legislators Forum, God bless you sir. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, wherever you are, God bless you. This is from a grateful wife.”

She also specially appreciated Dr. Dudefa Waripamowei, members of the clergy, family friends, and prayer partners who continuously interceded for her husband throughout the period of illness.

Mrs. Seibarugu specifically thanked Mr. Preye Wariowei and family, Bishop Godfrey Olo, Prophetess Amaere, and other clerics who stood with the family in prayers.

“If it were not for your prayers, we would not be standing here at all, and I am so grateful. My children are grateful. Because of school they are not here today, but they are grateful. I am grateful for not letting me become a widow,” she said.

She further expressed appreciation to guests who attended the celebration, members of the choir for their inspiring rendition, political associates including Ebiye Waripamo and members of the Seibarugu Political Dynasty, media practitioners, caterers, and everyone who contributed in one way or another to the success of the event.

Mrs. Seibarugu also invited guests to join the family for a special thanksgiving service, emphasizing that the celebration was ultimately an opportunity to return all glory and honour to God for preserving the life of her husband.

“We want to say, God, thank You. You did this, and we want to return the glory back to Him in our church,” she stated.

Also speaking, former aide to the celebrant, Mr. Preye Wariowei, praised Chief Seibarugu for his mentorship, generosity, and commitment to developing people around him. He noted that serving under the celebrant afforded him the opportunity to witness firsthand his leadership qualities, humility, and dedication to public service.

Wariowei described the celebrant as a man of integrity and compassion whose influence has positively shaped the lives of many individuals within and beyond his immediate community.

Former Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, and APC candidate for the 2027 National Assembly election, Dr. Robinson Obuebite, also paid glowing tribute to Chief Seibarugu, describing him as a trusted colleague, respected statesman, and committed servant of the people.

According to Dr. Obuebite, the celebrant has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership, integrity, and dedication to community advancement. He commended Chief Seibarugu’s contributions to peacebuilding, human capital development, and the promotion of unity within society.

Similarly, former Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, lauded the celebrant’s enduring legacy of service and leadership.

He described Chief Seibarugu as a dependable ally and accomplished leader whose contributions to the development of Bayelsa State and his community have earned him widespread respect and admiration.

Rt. Hon. Ebebi noted that the celebrant’s humility, wisdom, and commitment to the welfare of others remain qualities worthy of emulation by younger generations.

Speakers at the event unanimously described Chief Werinipre Davidson Seibarugu as a bridge-builder, mentor, community leader, and advocate for peace whose contributions have left lasting impressions on countless lives.
