As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Diri/Akpe Believers, Bayelsa State, has intensified its strategic planning and consultations aimed at mobilising support for the Assured Prosperity Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, and His Excellency, Pastor Peter Pereotubo Akpe, PhD, as well as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State.

In furtherance of its mobilisation drive, the group convened a strategic meeting on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The meeting, attended by key leaders and stakeholders of the group, focused on grassroots mobilisation strategies, ward-to-ward sensitisation plans, and efforts to strengthen the organisation’s structures across the eight Local Government Areas of the state.
Those present included the Director-General of the group, Hon. Douyi Willy; Deputy Director-General, Mrs. Diepreye Barber; State Directors; Local Government and Ward Coordinators; and other committed members.
In his address, Hon. Douyi Willy commended members for their dedication and commitment to the growth of the group. He urged them to remain steadfast, united and focused on the ideals and objectives for which the Diri/Akpe Believers was established.
Hon. Willy said the group was strategically positioned to mobilise support for the Assured Prosperity Government and the APC ahead of the 2027 Presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly elections in Bayelsa State.
He explained that the ongoing consultations and strengthening of the group’s structures were part of deliberate efforts to expand its grassroots presence and coordinate its activities across the state.
He further urged Local Government and Ward Coordinators to return to their respective bases and intensify sensitisation efforts, assuring them that the leadership would continue to provide the necessary direction and support.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by members to work assiduously towards achieving the group’s stated objectives and mobilisation mandate ahead of the 2027 elections.
