The Bayelsa State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Biseni community in Yenagoa Local Government Area following a breakdown of law and order.

The curfew, which takes immediate effect, was ordered by Governor Douye Diri on Friday after receiving security briefings on the situation in the community.
According to the report, some individuals had barricaded roads leading into and within the community and set bonfires, disrupting movement and raising security concerns.
Governor Diri consequently directed security operatives to take necessary measures to restore law and order, peace and security in the area.
The governor also urged law-abiding residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies, assuring them that the government would continue to take measures to safeguard lives and property in Biseni.
Residents are expected to comply with the curfew directive as security operatives work to restore normalcy in the community.
