The worst ever has happened?” Then came a phone call: “Daddy is gone. Come now, now.” It all seemed like an awful dream; the end of history! Alas, there layed the Opu Olotu, Igirigi Keme, stoic, still and serene.
Your Excellency, Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyesegha, your legacy lives on.
Nine years gone, yet memories stay strong just like an evening gone.
In all the rivulets, creeks, and waterways of Bayelsa, your name is etched in the hearts of all. Yes, young and old; great and small. Yes, in all of Ijaw Nation, Niger Delta, and Nigeria, DSP illuminates radiant as a shining star that seems never departing.
Your dream, vision, and passion for a better Ijaw nation still guides us all, especially through the challenging demands of building a formidable future for our generations
.
Despite the vicissitudes of life and untoward political undercurrents your unquenchable courage, wisdom, and might aglowed,
So you fought for justice, day and night, and as Apostle Paul once said in 2 Timothy 4:7, you kept the faith.
None was in doubt that your passion for the people’s causes continue to inspire this and all generation’s spontaneous acclaim and applause.
Even at the darkest moments of trials and tribulations, you stood tall, unshaken, and housing no guile or unforgivable instincts against any.
ALAMCO, today 9 years after that unforgettable moment at UPTH, you still remain a beacon of hope, for one and all.
Though you are gone from our sight,
Your impact remains a guiding light.
We remember your tireless efforts,
Your selflessness and your painstaking endeavours to uplift the Ijaw nation.
Our immortal Governor General, your legacy endures,
A testament to your noble pursuits and humane sweet soul.
May your towering footmark perpetually continue to inspire,
And may your memory forever ignite a new beginning for our progeny.
