At a virtual meeting held on Sunday evening, with over 95 percent attendance, and presided over by the Director-General of New Media, Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, the aides unanimously agreed to immediately withdraw their membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The decision, according to them, was taken as a mark of honour and loyalty to the governor.

The motion calling on team members to resign from the PDP was moved by Mr. Bodiseowei Fred Oyomowei and seconded by Mr. Waribugo W. Gabriel before being unanimously adopted.

The aides commended Governor Diri for his infrastructural drive and numerous legacy projects which, they noted, have endeared him to the people and made their work of projecting his achievements much easier.

They further observed that the governor has demonstrated practical leadership, citing ongoing legacy projects such as the gas turbines project, which they believe will transform the economic fortunes of Bayelsa State.

In the meantime, the team also passed a vote of confidence on their Director-General, Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, for his effective leadership and innovative strategies that have strengthened the government’s public communication on policies, programmes, and projects of the Prosperity Administration.

The group additionally congratulated Dr. Oredipe on his recent recognition for “Excellence in Digital Communication” at the 12th Bayelsa Media Awards.
