Today, after wide consultations and careful consideration, we have formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to advance governance in Bayelsa State.

This political alignment with the centre is a strategic and collaborative decision taken in the best interests of our people and to accelerate the state’s development.
I wish to appreciate my dear brother and leader, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, for leading a powerful delegation of APC leaders including the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, National Chairman of our party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and my colleague governors to Bayelsa State to formally receive my team and me into the APC fold.
I am grateful for the leadership and accommodation of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and thank you for the award of the second phase of the historic Nembe-Brass road and for other interventions in the state.
I am convinced that Mr. President’s economic and fiscal policies will positively re-engineer this country for great.
I pledge to continue to work constructively with the federal government for the overall development of Bayelsa State, and support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
For us in Bayelsa State, we are too small and close‑knit to be divided by partisan bitterness.
I wish to express my profound gratitude to the leadership and membership of the APC in the state for warmly welcoming us into the fold. I have pledged to be a unifying factor among key stakeholders.
