Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating Democracy Day 2026, describing the occasion as a reminder of the nation’s democratic journey and the collective responsibility of citizens to promote unity, peace, and development.
In his Democracy Day message, Hon. Ambaiowei paid tribute to the sacrifices of Nigerians who contributed to the sustenance of democratic governance, noting that the country’s democratic system remains a vital foundation for national growth and stability.
According to the federal lawmaker, Democracy Day provides an opportunity for reflection on the values of freedom, participation, accountability, and good governance, while also encouraging citizens to remain committed to nation-building.
“As we commemorate Democracy Day 2026, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating the enduring values of democracy, unity, and national progress,” Ambaiowei stated.
He emphasized that the significance of the day extends beyond celebration, serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made by patriots and democratic advocates who worked tirelessly to ensure that Nigeria remains governed by the will of the people.
“This occasion reminds us of the sacrifices made to sustain democratic governance and the collective responsibility we share in building a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive nation,” he said.
The Southern Ijaw representative further reaffirmed his commitment to delivering quality representation to his constituents through legislative interventions and community-focused development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people.
“I remain committed to providing effective representation and advancing the welfare of the people of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency through purposeful legislation and community development initiatives,” he added.
