In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, the National Chairman of PANDEF, Amb. Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, said the sacred celebration serves as a reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, mercy, and providence toward the people of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
According to him, the Eid-el-Kabir celebration presents an opportunity for deeper spiritual reflection, renewed commitment to righteousness, and collective efforts toward building a peaceful and prosperous society.
“Today, the Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee of PANDEF felicitates with members of the Muslim Community of our region on the celebration of the Holy feast of Eid-el-Kabir,” the statement read.
Dr. Igali noted that the season symbolizes hope and divine favour, stressing that the South-South region remains richly blessed and positioned for greater opportunities and progress.
“This season reminds us all of God’s abiding faithfulness and providence towards us as a people, blessed more than all other sections of our great country. So, let us prepare ourselves for the new move of God which will certainly come,” he stated.
The PANDEF chairman further called for introspection and dedication to the ideals of justice, unity, and moral uprightness, saying such values are essential in advancing the collective aspirations of the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
“Yet the moment also calls for deeper introspection and reflections on the things of God and righteousness. This is imperative for our continuing collective efforts in building a Niger Delta and indeed Nigeria of our dreams and the future,” he added.
He also observed that the celebration coincides with the International Children’s Day, describing it as a positive sign of hope and assurance for future generations.
Dr. Igali concluded the message by wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration, saying, “Once more, Barka de Sallah.”
