The Director-General of the Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 APC Grassroots Campaign Organisation, Mr. Ebrakumo Godbless Sogo, has expressed appreciation to the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, critical stakeholders and the people of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency and Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 for presenting what he described as competent APC candidates to the electorate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mr. Sogo made the remarks while leading a mega rally organised by the group in Amassoma on Saturday, September 12, 2026, where he highlighted the qualities, experience and achievements of the party’s candidates.
A statement signed by Opukeme Sogo, Media Assistant to the organisation, quoted the Director-General as describing the APC candidates as leaders with the capacity to deliver effective representation and development.
Speaking specifically on the member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Sogo described Hon. Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei as “a good, loving, humble, listening and caring leader with a heart of gold” who deserves to be re-elected for a second term to consolidate his achievements.
According to him, Ambaiowei has facilitated the installation of solar-powered streetlights in rural communities across Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, renovated school buildings in various communities and provided primary and secondary school desks and exercise books to pupils and students in the constituency.
He further highlighted the lawmaker’s empowerment initiatives for youths, as well as the provision of free medical eye examinations, treatment, drugs and customised medicated glasses for constituents.
Mr. Sogo also listed personal interventions attributed to Ambaiowei, including assistance to constituents with JAMB registration forms, house rent, university tuition and healthcare bills, as well as financial support for small-scale businesses.
The Director-General stressed that Ambaiowei’s legislative experience distinguishes him from a first-time aspirant, noting that the lawmaker has sponsored and supported several bills aimed at addressing the needs of the people.
He therefore called for his re-election to enable him to complete ongoing initiatives, consolidate his legislative achievements and continue providing development-oriented representation and effective oversight for the people of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency.
The organisation also reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Friday Konbowei Benson, Hon. Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei and Dr. Coronation Tokpo Edward ahead of the 2027 elections.
