Speaking to delegates and stakeholders, Ebiseni described her experience in the Ijaw Parliament as deeply enriching, noting that it surpasses even her strong personal background in politics and leadership.
“The Parliament of the Ijaw nation… is a citadel of knowledge beyond the experiences of my pedigree,” she said, recounting her upbringing in a political family and her academic grounding in Political Science.
She emphasized the unique identity and geographical spread of the Ijaw people, describing the NRC as a true representation of their collective existence and diversity.
“The Ijaw Parliament is the true manifestation of our existential reality… a melting pot of audacious representatives committed to the advancement of the Ijaw cause.”
Ebiseni also acknowledged the resilience and determination of members, whom she described as “radical and forward-looking,” united in defending the interests of the Ijaw nation across Southern Nigeria.
While commending the inclusive and respectful atmosphere within the Council, she expressed concern over the low number of female parliamentarians, calling for improvement in future assemblies.

“Though uncomfortable with the limited number of women parliamentarians, we have been treated honourably as queens… a signal of the maturity and civilization of the Ijaw people.”
She further offered personal insights into her leadership role, humorously recounting her informal responsibility as a financial overseer within the team.
“You don’t know what burden you saddle me with… being the unofficial treasurer, with calls at odd hours to verify disbursements,” she remarked.
Highlighting leadership within the Council, Ebiseni praised the calm and strategic approach of Dr. Ayanate Kio, noting his ability to manage complex challenges with composure.
“When it appeared the heavens would fall, he approached issues with calmness that disarmed their feared outcomes.”
She also commended the Clerk of the Council for his steadfast administrative support, revealing that members of the leadership often made personal sacrifices to ensure stability within the Parliament.
Looking ahead, Ebiseni assured members of continued commitment from the leadership now elevated to the National Executive Committee.
“We promise to be worthy ambassadors and to protect this hallowed Parliament and its members within the ambit of our powers.”
On the broader national stage, she described the INC electoral process as a model of democratic excellence, citing its transparency, inclusiveness, and innovation.
“INC is the only sociocultural organisation in Nigeria with such elaborate democratic processes… including campaigns, manifestos, electronic voting, and diaspora participation.”

She even suggested that Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission, could benefit from studying the INC’s system.
“I will recommend a retreat for INEC at the Ijaw House,” she added.
Concluding her remarks, Ebiseni expressed pride in her association with the Council and optimism for the future.
“I am proud to be associated with you all and wish us greater accomplishments in our endeavours.”
The plenary session marked a significant moment for the Ijaw National Congress, reinforcing its reputation as a leading sociocultural organisation championing democratic ideals and ethnic representation in Nigeria.
