As Nigerians celebrate the twin occasion of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day and the 27th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri, has called on Bayelsans to push for the state’s prosperity.

He added that the state was overly dependent on oil and gas for revenue, and that the state must be more deliberate in exploring the rich and diverse ecosystem of abundance that the state possesses.
The Governor further explained the three senatorial roads that are presently under construction, emphasizing their importance in opening the state to more economic opportunities.
He challenged the state’s residents to vote PDP during the forthcoming gubernatorial election, reminding them of the significance of good governance and democracy and encouraged them to do all it takes to ensure their votes would be counted.
Sen. Diri urged all Bayelsans and Nigerians to join hands in building a society that has a thriving economy marked by peace, unity and tolerance while championing access to quality education and healthcare.
